OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 2nd Engineer for an Oil/Chemical Tanker trading worldwide. You will support the Chief Engineer in running and maintaining all engine room machinery and systems, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable vessel operations.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Engineer in daily engine room management and maintenance
- Operate, monitor and maintain main engine, auxiliaries and related systems
- Oversee bunkering operations and fuel/lubricant management as instructed
- Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance
- Ensure engine room safety, housekeeping and compliance with company procedures
- Maintain engine room records, logs and reports
- Support environmental and pollution prevention measures (MARPOL / SOPEP)
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Engineer (Unlimited) CoC, STCW compliant
- Recent experience as 2/E on Oil/Chemical Tankers
- Good knowledge of engine room operations, maintenance and safety
- Valid tanker endorsements and all mandatory STCW certificates
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate
