Join OSM Thome as Chief Officer on a car carrier trading worldwide. You will be a key leader onboard, supporting the Master and ensuring safe, efficient deck operations and cargo handling on international voyages.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Master in the safe navigation and operation of the vessel
- Plan and supervise cargo loading, stowage, securing, and discharging of vehicles
- Lead and manage the deck crew in day-to-day operations and maintenance
- Oversee stability, draft, and ballast operations
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and ISM/ISPS procedures
- Maintain deck logbooks, records, and reports as required
Requirements
- Valid Chief Officer (Unlimited) license
- Recent experience as C/O or 1/O on car carriers or similar vessels
- Strong background in cargo planning and securing of vehicles
- Good knowledge of international maritime regulations and safety standards
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good English communication skills
