Information about the job:
- Job Title: Online Surveyor.
- Project: Various Offshore Vessels.
- Location: Worldwide / currently in the UAE.
- Duration: 12 months (renewable).
- Start Date: ASAP.
- Rotation: 35/35 days on/off.
- Salary: Please state your realistic expectations when applying. This will be discussed with the right candidate. Consolidated Monthly Salary, paid only while working.
- Overtime: Applicable.
- Insurance: Provided by the company.
- Employer: Our client, a drilling and construction contractor.
Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Degree in Geomatics, Hydrographic Surveying, Marine Surveying, or a related discipline (or equivalent military training).
- Minimum 3+ years of offshore survey experience.
- Practical knowledge of subsea positioning, survey operations, and offshore construction activities.
- Experience working with survey acquisition and processing software used in the offshore industry.
- Hands-on experience with:
- EIVA NaviPac and TMS systems.
- GAPS USBL positioning systems.
- Shallow water S-lay pipeline installation activities.
- Anchor handling/anchor barge operations.
- Ability to interpret survey data and perform accurate quality checks.
- Familiarity with ROV positioning, offsets, and subsea operations support.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate technical records.
- Capable of working independently and effectively within multicultural offshore teams.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Willingness to work offshore rotations and travel internationally.
- Commitment to company HSE standards and operational procedures.
Tasks:
- Operate and monitor online survey systems during offshore activities.
- Collect, review, and validate positioning and survey information.
- Assist with setup, testing, and verification of survey equipment.
- Support calibration activities for positioning and measurement systems.
- Carry out dimensional control checks and offshore survey measurements.
- Monitor environmental data, including seawater conditions, when required.
- Provide survey support for ROV and underwater vehicle operations.
- Execute positioning activities for subsea installation projects, including pipelines, cables, structures, and offshore facilities.
- Coordinate survey requirements with vessel teams, ROV crews, and project personnel.
- Prepare survey records, operational logs, reports, and technical documentation.
- Ensure survey files are correctly managed, backed up, and available for project use.
- Assist with field reporting and operational communications.
- Participate in safety meetings, risk reviews, and daily offshore planning activities.
- Follow project procedures, work instructions, and company safety requirements.
