Assistant Electrician needed for offshore support vessel in the UK. Temporary role with IWS for experienced seafarer electricians.
Electrician neededas as support for CETO for an offshore support vessel operating in UK waters. In this temporary role, you will support the Electrician to keep all electrical systems safe and in good working order, helping to ensure smooth vessel operations.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist with maintenance and repair of all vessel electrical equipment and systems
- Carry out routine checks, fault finding and basic troubleshooting
- Support installation and testing of electrical components and cables
- Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work systems at all times
- Keep work areas, tools and spare parts organised and in good condition
- Report defects, progress and completed work to the Electrician / Supervisor
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Electrician or similar role at sea or offshore
- Relevant electrical trade qualification or seagoing electrician training
- Good understanding of marine electrical systems and safe working practices
- Valid offshore and medical certificates in line with UK/sector standards
- Ability to work safely in an offshore environment and as part of the vessel crew
- Good English communication skills
- Electro-Technical Officer COP (STCW 2010-Reg III/6)
