Join OSM Thome as a 3rd Officer Junior on a chemical tanker trading in Europe. This is a great step for a young deck officer looking to build experience in tanker operations and safe cargo handling.
- Key responsibilities:
- Stand navigational watch under the guidance of senior officers
- Assist with voyage planning, position fixing and bridge watch routines
- Support cargo and ballast operations, including tank inspections and line-ups
- Assist in maintaining deck equipment, safety and firefighting gear
- Take part in mooring, unmooring and ship-to-ship operations
- Follow company safety procedures and take active part in drills
- Requirements:
- Valid Certificate of Competency as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (OICNW)
- Basic and Advanced training for Oil & Chemical Tankers
- Valid STCW certificates, medical and seamans book
- Good English communication skills
- Previous experience on tankers preferred, cadet time acceptable
- Strong safety mindset and willingness to learn from senior officers
