Key responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and basic cooking under supervision
- Help keep galley, stores and messrooms clean and tidy
- Support serving meals to officers and crew
- Follow hygiene, safety and housekeeping standards at all times
- Assist with receiving, checking and storing provisions
- Carry out other duties as directed by the Chief Cook or Catering Officer
Requirements
- Interest in working at sea and in shipboard catering
- Basic knowledge of kitchen or hotel work is an advantage
- Good hygiene habits and attention to cleanliness
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a small team
- Physically fit and able to work in a shipboard environment
- Willingness to learn and grow into a seagoing catering career
