OSM Thome is looking for a 4th Engineer / Junior Engineer to sail on oil/chemical tankers worldwide. You will work closely with the engine team to keep all machinery running safely and efficiently, and gain solid experience in tanker operations.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in operation and maintenance of main engine, auxiliaries and engine room equipment
- Carry out routine checks, inspections and preventive maintenance
- Support bunkering, cargo and ballast operations from the engine side
- Follow company and vessel safety procedures and pollution prevention rules
- Keep engine room logs, records and maintenance reports updated
- Assist senior engineers with repairs and troubleshooting
Requirements
- Valid 4th Engineer / OOW Engineer (Engine) license, meeting STCW requirements
- Previous sea service in engine department; tanker experience is an advantage
- Valid STCW basic and advanced tanker certificates (oil/chemical)
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate and required vaccinations
- Team player with a strong safety mindset and willingness to learn
