OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Chief Engineer (C/E) to serve onboard a ROPAX vessel. This is a good opportunity for a hands-on leader who can ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of all engine room machinery and technical systems.
- Key responsibilities:
- Oversee operation and maintenance of main engine, aux engines and all engine room equipment
- Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance
- Lead and train engine room crew, ensuring safe working practices
- Monitor fuel and lube oil consumption and maintain accurate records
- Ensure compliance with class, flag, SMS, MARPOL and other regulations
- Prepare for and assist with surveys, inspections and audits
- Report technical issues and coordinate with shore management
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Engineer CoC, STCW compliant for ROPAX or similar vessels
- Recent sea service as C/E, preferably on ROPAX or passenger vessels
- Strong experience with engine room operations, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Good command of English, spoken and written
- Valid STCW safety and medical certificates
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a multinational crew
