OSM Thome Recruitment is looking for an energetic and guest-focused Bazaar Activity Host to join Royal Caribbean's onboard entertainment team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about culture, storytelling, and creating engaging guest experiences in a vibrant, destination-inspired environment.
As a Bazaar Activity Host, you will be part of The Bazaar — a culturally immersive venue designed to blur the line between ship and shore. In this highly visible, guest-facing role, you will help bring destinations to life through authentic programming, cultural demonstrations, interactive activities, and personal engagement with guests.
Reporting to the Activity Manager and working under the direction of the Bazaar Activity Captain, you will serve as a cultural ambassador within The Bazaar. You will support the delivery of cultural events, themed activations, workshops, and festival-style experiences that inspire guests to connect with the traditions, history, and spirit of the featured regions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys guest interaction, has strong communication skills, and can bring enthusiasm, cultural awareness, and professionalism to a dynamic onboard setting.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Engage guests in a warm, enthusiastic, and culturally informed manner throughout The Bazaar
- Encourage participation in activities such as arts and crafts, dance classes, trivia, workshops, and cultural demonstrations
- Support the Bazaar Activity Captain in delivering scheduled cultural programming and themed festival moments
- Share stories, customs, traditions, and historical context in an engaging and respectful way
- Promote Bazaar experiences, special activities, and venue offerings through direct guest interaction
- Collaborate closely with the Bazaar Captain, Activity team, Entertainment, Food & Beverage, and other onboard departments
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of activity areas and event spaces as required
- Maintain professional standards, safety compliance, and brand representation at all times
- Support milestone celebrations, welcome events, embarkation, debarkation, and other shipboard events as assigned
- Participate in the wider Celebrity activity program, including selected daytime and evening activities outside of Bazaar operations
- Assist with operations and guest experience in venues such as The Attic and the Golf Simulator
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in guest-facing roles within hospitality, entertainment, tourism, recreation, cultural programming, or cruise operations is preferred
- Strong passion for cultural exploration, storytelling, and interactive guest experiences
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable speaking to small groups and leading interactive activities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly visible environment
- Basic understanding of regional cultures, traditions, or history is preferred; willingness to learn is essential
- Additional language skills are considered an advantage
- Must meet shipboard employment, safety, and emergency drill requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Stand, walk, and move actively throughout the day
- Dance and participate in physical guest activities
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Participate fully in safety drills and emergency procedures
- Work flexible hours in accordance with onboard operational and MLC requirements
