Key responsibilities
- Bridge watchkeeping and safe navigation as per COLREGs and company procedures
- Passage planning, position fixing, and updating charts and publications (paper/ECDIS)
- Maintenance and testing of navigational and GMDSS equipment
- Assisting Master and Chief Officer with cargo operations and stability matters
- Participating in safety drills, inspections, and onboard training
- Keeping accurate logs, records, and reports as required
Requirements
- Valid STCW II/1 Officer of the Watch (Deck) license or higher
- Previous experience as 2nd Officer or OOW on bulk carriers preferred
- Valid STCW basic and advanced safety courses, medical certificate, and GMDSS GOC
- Good working knowledge of ECDIS and modern bridge equipment
- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work well in an international crew
