Join OSM Thome as a Fitter on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. Work closely with the deck and engine teams to keep all steel structures, pipelines and machinery in safe and good working condition.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out steel repairs, welding and cutting jobs on deck and in the engine room
- Maintain and repair pipelines, brackets, foundations and ship structures
- Assist with maintenance of hatch covers, cranes and other deck equipment
- Support engine crew with fabrication and fitting of parts as needed
- Follow safety procedures and keep work areas clean and orderly
- Requirements:
- Previous seagoing experience as Fitter on bulk carriers or similar vessels
- Strong welding and gas-cutting skills (electric/arc and gas)
- Good knowledge of steelwork and ship structure repairs
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good English communication and ability to work in an international crew
