OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 2nd Engineer for a crude oil tanker trading worldwide. If you are a hands-on officer with solid engine room experience and a strong safety mindset, we invite you to sail with us.
Key responsibilities
- Assist Chief Engineer in safe and efficient running of all engine room machinery and systems
- Plan and carry out daily maintenance and repairs on main engine, generators and auxiliary equipment
- Monitor engine performance, fuel and lube oil consumption, and keep accurate engine room logs
- Supervise engine room ratings and ensure safe working practices at all times
- Support bunkering, cargo and ballast operations as required
- Participate in emergency drills and implement company safety and environmental procedures
Requirements
- Valid STCW III/2 2nd Engineer CoC, suitable for tanker vessels
- Recent experience as 2/E on crude oil tankers
- Valid tanker endorsements and all standard STCW safety certificates
- Good command of English, written and spoken
- Strong safety awareness and good teamwork skills
- Medically fit for sea service and holding valid seafarer documents
- With RT-Flex Engine experience
