Experienced EU Fitter (FTR) needed for RORO/ROPAX vessel with STENA. Work in a hands-on role, carrying out steel repairs and maintenance to keep the vessel safe, reliable, and in good working condition.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out steel work, welding, cutting, and fabrication as instructed by the Chief Engineer
- Perform maintenance and repair of hull, decks, fittings, and ship structures
- Assist with maintenance of machinery foundations, pipe supports, and sea connections
- Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work systems at all times
- Keep tools, workshop, and work areas clean and in good order
- Support engine room and deck crew with repair and maintenance jobs as required
Requirements
- Valid seagoing documents and medical fitness as per STCW and flag requirements
- Proven experience as Fitter/Welder on RORO/ROPAX or similar vessel
- Strong welding and steel fabrication skills (MMA, MIG/MAG, gas cutting)
- Good command of English, spoken and written
- Right to work and sail as an EU seafarer
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently and in a team
