Join OSM Thome as 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and engine team to keep all machinery running safely and efficiently.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer in safe and efficient engine room operations
- Monitor, operate and maintain main engine, auxiliaries and all engine room equipment
- Plan and carry out routine maintenance and repairs as per PMS and maker’s manuals
- Keep engine room logs, records and reports up to date
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and company procedures at all times
- Support drills and emergency response as part of the engine team
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW 2/E Certificate of Competency for motor ships
- Recent experience as 2nd Engineer on bulk carriers preferred
- All mandatory STCW certificates and valid seafarer medical
- Good English communication skills, spoken and written
- Strong teamwork, safety awareness and hands-on technical skills
