Join OSM Thome as Chief Engineer on a chemical tanker and take full charge of the engine department. Lead the team, keep all machinery running safely and efficiently, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations on board worldwide.
- Key responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all engine room operations and maintenance
- Lead, train and supervise engine department crew
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of all main and auxiliary machinery
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance and repairs
- Monitor fuel and lube oil consumption and maintain records
- Ensure compliance with class, flag, ISM, and company procedures
- Coordinate with the Master and deck department for smooth vessel operations
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Engineer license (unlimited) – motor vessels
- Recent experience as C/E on chemical or product tankers
- Valid STCW certificates and tanker/chemical endorsements
- Good command of English, spoken and written
- Strong leadership, teamwork and safety mindset
- Medically fit for sea service
