Join OSM Thome as 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. You will be part of a professional engine team, keeping the vessel safe, efficient and well-maintained on all voyages.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer in daily operation and maintenance of all engine room machinery and systems
- Monitor main engine and auxiliary engines, including performance, fuel and lube oil systems
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance and repairs as per PMS and company standards
- Supervise engine room crew and ensure safe working practices
- Keep engine room logs, records and reports up to date
- Support bunkering operations and engine room drills
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Engineer (III/2) CoC for seagoing vessels
- Experience as 2/E on bulk carriers preferred
- Valid STCW certificates, medical and other mandatory documents
- Good English communication skills
- Strong teamwork, safety mindset and hands-on attitude in the engine room
