Join OSM Thome as a 2nd Engineer (2/E) on a fully refrigerated LPG tanker trading worldwide. You will be a key member of the engine department, supporting safe, efficient and reliable vessel operations across global trade routes.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Engineer in running and maintaining all engine room machinery and equipment
- Plan and carry out routine maintenance and repairs on main engine, auxiliaries and related systems
- Monitor and record engine performance, fuel and lube oil consumption, and machinery parameters
- Ensure safe operation of cargo-related machinery and systems for LPG, following all procedures
- Lead and supervise engine room ratings during watchkeeping and maintenance work
- Follow company safety, environmental and permit-to-work procedures at all times
- Assist in drills, inspections and audits, keeping all engine areas clean and in good order
Requirements
- Valid 2nd Engineer (Motor) CoC, meeting STCW requirements
- Recent experience as 2/E (or strong 3/E stepping up) on tanker vessels; LPG experience preferred
- Basic and Advanced Tanker / Gas Tanker endorsements in line with flag and STCW
- Valid STCW certificates, seafarer medical and travel documents
- Good English communication skills, spoken and written
- Strong safety mindset, good teamwork and willingness to work in a multicultural crew
