Description
OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Chief Officer for an Offshore Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel operating in North Sea waters under Norwegian (NIS) flag. The Chief Officer will assist the Master in safe and efficient vessel and deck operations with focus on anchor handling and supply work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Master in daily vessel operations and navigation
- Plan and supervise deck and cargo operations, including anchor handling and towing
- Ensure safe and efficient AHTS operations in North Sea conditions
- Lead and supervise deck crew, ensuring safe working practices
- Oversee stability, loading, and ballasting in accordance with regulations
- Maintain navigational watch and safety watch as required
- Support implementation of vessel SMS, safety drills, and permit-to-work systems
Requirements
- Valid Chief Officer license appropriate for vessel and trading area
- Proven North Sea experience on AHTS vessels
- Strong background in anchor handling and towing operations
- Experience with offshore supply operations to rigs/platforms
- Good knowledge of ISM, ISPS, and relevant offshore safety standards
- Ability to lead multinational crews and work safely under demanding conditions
- All required STCW and offshore safety certificates valid for North Sea operations
