OSM Thome is seeking an experienced Barge Officer for an offshore construction project in Denmark. The Barge Officer will play a critical role in overseeing barge operations in the foreshore area between Denmark and Germany.
Position Overview:
- Role: Barge Officer
- Location: Foreshore operations between Denmark and Germany. Based in Rødbyhavn (shore accommodation will be provided during off-shift hours).
- Company: Femern Link Contractors (FLC)
- Project: Design and construction of Northern Europe’s longest-immersed tunnel
- Rotation: 28 days on/off
- Contract: Permanent
- Taxation: Pay is net
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe navigation and operations of the barge.
- Communicate procedural requirements to the deck team.
- Prepare and monitor installation works using integrated spread functionalities.
- Monitor operational states of equipment for safety and efficiency.
- Advise on and suggest improvements for operational methods and techniques.
- Support communication among different departments on board.
- Contribute to the project quality plan and follow up on vessel certifications.
- Input to work schedules and supervise the execution of tasks.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of marine experience in relevant offshore operations.
- 2nd Officer or Chief Officer COC.
- Strong conflict resolution, communication, team-building, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with maintenance programs for offshore units.
- Completion of required training and certifications.
