Research and Development
- Identify training needs and competency gaps within an organization and the customers through job analysis, appraisal schemes, regular consultation with the managers, and human resources department.
- Develop the infrastructure for all Learning and Development programs by establishing standardized methods, tools and templates for analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and documentation that are aligned with the organization, the individual, and customer’s objectives.
- Keeping abreast with the developments in learning and performance by being aware of industry trends and tools within learning and development from reading relevant journals, joining forums, to attending conferences, and other relevant courses driving a culture of continuous professional development (CPD).
Course Development, Delivery and Improvement
- Deliver courses according to syllabus through classroom training, hands-on instructions or virtual classes.
- Ensure that delivery and development of courses within the assigned area of expertise are within the approved budget and plan.
- Conduct pilot class of developed courses and ensures that proper documentation is executed.
- Provide technical assistance or subject expertise to other training programs being designed and delivered.
- Ensure learners engagement through a variety of adult learning methodologies including in-class and e-learning.
- Facilitate a range of blended learning interventions including technical, behavioral, and leadership programmes.
- Evaluate learning and development programmes to ascertain organizational results.
- Ensure that statutory, regulatory and customer training requirements are met.
- Ensure that relevant training equipment are always maintained and functional as per PMS schedule and manufacturers recommendation.
- Coordinate with Training Admin and Support to ensure smooth arrangements are made regarding the delivery of courses and/or seminars.
- Amend and revise Course Programmes as necessary and ensures it is up to date, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment.
- Ensure proper documentations of assigned courses are readily available when needed.
- Responsible the recruitment and assessment of qualified instructors when needed to deliver training courses of Maritime Leaders Academy.
Required Competencies
- Graduate of BS Marine Engineering with Chief Engineer License
- Preferably with Management Level license holder for maritime courses.
- Holder of IMO Model Course certificate as Assessor or Instructor or an equivalent.
- Extensive experience in designing, developing and delivering training programs.
- Proficient in creating presentation materials through various media
- Facilitation Skills
- Ability to promote new approaches to learning
- Excellent communicator, able to present with credibility and authority
