Key Responsibilities
Data Collection and Preparation
- Gather data from various internal and external sources.
- Clean, validate, consolidate, and transform data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Design and periodically maintain data systems and databases.
Data Analysis and Interpretation
- Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Apply statistical methods and tools for in-depth analysis.
- Identify and define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
- Develop and implement data models and algorithms to support business goals.
Communication and Reporting
- Create reports and presentations to communicate findings clearly.
- Design and build dashboards, charts, and graphs for data visualization (primarily using Power BI).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address business requirements.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
- Identify areas of improvement and propose data-driven solutions.
- Support decision-making processes by providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Monitor and assess the impact of implemented data-driven initiatives.
Additional Duties
- Establish and maintain a Purchasing KPI Dashboard.
- Develop and manage a Digital Visual Management System for Technical Purchasing.
- Flexibility to handle other duties as assigned over time.
Authority
- The Data Analyst plays a vital role in translating raw data into actionable insights, directly influencing business strategies and decisions.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Solid understanding of statistical techniques.
- Proficiency in T-SQL and DAX scripting.
- Strong ETL/ELT experience with data extraction and transformation from multiple sources.
- Experience in data modeling for analysis and reporting.
- Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven problem-solving skills and solution-oriented thinking.
Tools & Platforms
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Power BI (report/dashboard development).
- Working knowledge of ETL processes and data visualization best practices.
Domain Knowledge
- Understanding of procurement or purchasing functions.
- Familiarity with shipping or logistics operations is a strong advantage.
Working Relationships
- Internal collaboration with: Information Technology, Procurement, Technical Purchasing, Catering Teams, Category Managers, and Business Unit Heads.
Educational Background
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics (BSCS, B.E., BSc/MSc preferred).
Work Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, ideally in a procurement or shipping/logistics environment.
