Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Proven experience operating linear winches in shore pull operations from land-based positions. Pipeline trench pull or wire pull, previous experience.
- Understanding of cable/pipeline tensioning and controlled pulling techniques.
- Familiarity with load monitoring systems and safe pulling procedures.
- Ability to interpret pull plans, rigging diagrams, and operational guidelines.
- Strong situational awareness and communication skills during active pull operations.
- Experience coordinating with marine or construction teams during beach landings.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of winch systems, hydraulics, and troubleshooting.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in beachside environments and exposed conditions.
- Commitment to safe working practices and environmental sensitivity in coastal areas.
- Valid offshore or site-access certifications, if required by project location.
- Proficiency in English.
Tasks:
- Set up and operate linear winch systems to support shore pull operations from the beach.
- Monitor and adjust winch parameters to ensure safe and controlled cable or pipe movement.
- Work closely with installation teams to synchronise pulling speed and tension.
- Assist with rigging, anchoring, and alignment of the winch and pulling gear.
- Perform pre-use inspections and ongoing monitoring of winch equipment and controls.
- Identify and address minor technical issues to avoid downtime during operations.
- Follow project-specific procedures, environmental requirements, and HSE protocols.
- Maintain clear communication with offshore or marine units during the pull.
- Support demobilisation and equipment recovery post-operation.
