Description
We are looking for an experienced Chief Officer for an Oil/Chemical Tanker under Norway (NIS) flag, trading worldwide. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with oil and chemical cargoes, advanced tank cleaning, and vetting inspections, and is ready to join from the beginning of March at SAD.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all deck and cargo operations
- Plan and supervise loading, discharging, and cargo care for oil and chemical cargoes
- Operate and monitor cargo systems including FRAMO deep-well pumps and Nitrogen/Inert Gas systems
- Plan and execute complex tank cleaning, including chemical-to-chemical changeovers and wall-wash tests
- Prepare and follow up on SIRE/CDI vetting inspections and maintain vetting readiness
- Ensure safe working practices, ISM/ISPS compliance, and onboard safety training
- Oversee deck maintenance and inspection routines
- Act as Ship Security Officer when required
- Assist the Master in navigation, mooring, and emergency response
Requirements
- Valid STCW CoC: Chief Mate Unlimited (II/2)
- Advanced Chemical Tanker CoP (V/1-1-2) and Advanced Oil Tanker CoP (V/1-1-1)
- Strong experience as C/O on Oil/Chemical Tankers with worldwide trade
- Proven expertise with FRAMO cargo pumps and Nitrogen/Inert Gas systems
- Solid experience in advanced tank cleaning and wall-wash procedures
- Experience with SIRE and CDI inspections with good vetting history
- Proficiency in cargo planning and compatibility software (e.g. Milbros, Miracle)
- Valid medical certificate (ENG1 or equivalent)
- Valid US C1/D visa
- Valid Ship Security Officer (SSO) certificate
- Advanced Firefighting and Medical Care certificates in date
- Available to join at SAD from the beginning of March
