Information about the job:
- Job Title: Rope Access Technician (Scaffolding).
- Project: Various Offshore Vessels.
- Location: Worldwide.
- Duration: 6-month contract (subject to extension).
- Rotation: 1 month on/off.
- Salary: Please state your realistic expectations when applying. This will be discussed with the right candidate. Consolidated Monthly Salary, paid only while working.
- Insurance: Provided by the company.
- Employer: Our client, a drilling and construction contractor.
Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in rope access scaffolding within construction, offshore, oil & gas, or industrial environments.
- Valid IRATA International Level 2 certification with current logbook records.
- Offshore safety certification (BOSIET or equivalent).
- Proven ability to work safely at height and in restricted access areas.
- Practical knowledge of rope access systems, rescue equipment, rigging methods, and fall protection.
- Experience assembling and removing various scaffold systems, including temporary and suspended structures.
- Ability to inspect scaffolding components and identify defects or safety concerns.
- Understanding of industry safety standards, procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively within a work team.
- Ability to complete work reports, inspection records, and equipment documentation.
- Commitment to maintaining required certifications and ongoing training.
Tasks:
- Install and remove scaffolding structures safely according to project requirements and approved procedures.
- Carry out rope access activities while following site safety rules and operational guidelines.
- Perform daily checks on ropes, tools, PPE, and access equipment before use.
- Participate in job briefings and ensure safe work practices are followed by the team.
- Support scaffold inspections, adjustments, and minor modifications where required.
- Build and dismantle scaffold towers, access platforms, suspended systems, and temporary structures.
- Assist with loading platforms, edge protection systems, and specialist scaffold arrangements.
- Use rope access techniques to reach difficult areas for inspection, maintenance, and installation work.
- Examine offshore assets, structures, vessels, and pipework for defects or required repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, equipment use, and inspections.
- Work closely with supervisors, clients, and other trades to deliver safe and efficient project execution.
- For supervisory roles: lead rope access activities, coordinate teams, and oversee work execution offshore.
