OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 2nd Officer for a Chemical Tanker trading worldwide. If you are a competent navigational officer with solid tanker background and a strong safety mindset, we invite you to sail with us.
- Key responsibilities:
- Watchkeeping officer on bridge, ensuring safe navigation and compliance with COLREGs
- Assist Master and Chief Officer with passage planning and daily navigational duties
- Maintain charts, ECDIS, publications, and navigational equipment up to date
- Assist in cargo operations, tank inspections, and planning under Chief Officer’s supervision
- Participate in safety drills, ISM / ISPS procedures, and onboard training
- Support implementation of company safety and environmental policies
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW II/1 or II/2 CoC as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch
- Recent experience as 2nd Officer on Chemical or Product Tankers
- Valid tanker endorsements (Advanced Chemical Tanker preferred)
- All mandatory STCW certificates and valid seafarer medical
- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written
- Strong safety attitude and willingness to work in a mixed-nationality crew
