Join OSM Thome as Chief Engineer on our worldwide trading oil/chemical tankers. You will be in charge of the engine department, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant vessel operations at sea and in port.
- Key responsibilities:
- Manage all engine room operations and maintenance
- Lead and supervise engine room crew
- Ensure safe, efficient running of all machinery and equipment
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance and repairs
- Monitor fuel and lube oil consumption and condition
- Ensure compliance with class, flag, ISM, MARPOL and company rules
- Prepare and keep technical and engine room records up to date
- Work closely with the Master and shore technical team
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW Chief Engineer (Motor) CoC for worldwide trade
- Recent experience as C/E on oil/chemical tankers
- Strong knowledge of tanker operations and safety
- Good leadership and crew management skills
- Good English communication, spoken and written
- All mandatory STCW and tanker safety certificates up to date
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate
