Join OSM Thome as 2nd Engineer on an oil/chemical tanker trading in the North Sea. You will be part of a hands-on engine team, keeping all machinery running safely and efficiently while supporting smooth vessel operations.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer in daily engine room operations and maintenance
- Operate, monitor and troubleshoot main engine and auxiliary machinery
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance and repairs
- Supervise engine room ratings and ensure safe working practices
- Maintain engine room logs, records and reports
- Ensure compliance with class, flag, company and safety standards
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Engineer Officer (Motor) license, meeting STCW requirements
- Recent experience as 2/E on tanker vessels, preferably oil/chemical
- Good knowledge of engine room systems and tanker operations
- All required STCW certificates, valid medical and tanker endorsements
- Good English communication skills
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work well in a mixed-nationality crew
