Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Eligibility to work in Italy through EU citizenship or a valid work authorization.
- Experience supporting welding engineering activities in offshore, pipeline, fabrication, or heavy industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedure qualification, welding metallurgy, and industry codes and standards.
- Ability to interpret client specifications, technical drawings, and contractual welding requirements.
- Experience preparing and reviewing welding documentation, including WPSs, WPQRs, welding procedures, and related technical records.
- Understanding of welding consumable selection, procurement, and usage monitoring.
- Familiarity with quality management systems, weld traceability, defect analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Tasks:
- Provide technical guidance on welding engineering throughout project planning, execution, and completion.
- Develop, maintain, and update welding documentation required for bids and active projects.
- Assess project specifications and material requirements to establish practical and compliant welding solutions.
- Coordinate qualification activities for welding procedures and welder certifications.
- Review and technically evaluate subcontractor welding documentation and support supplier assessments.
- Maintain complete and accurate welding records to ensure material and weld traceability.
- Support procurement by estimating welding consumable requirements and monitoring project consumption.
- Track welding quality performance, review defect trends, and recommend corrective and preventive improvements.
- Liaise with site and offshore teams to resolve welding-related technical issues and improve production efficiency.
- Monitor project progress to identify opportunities for productivity, quality, and process improvements.
- Stay informed on emerging welding technologies, equipment, and consumables, recommending innovative solutions where beneficial.
- Maintain organized technical files and welding data to support project delivery and knowledge sharing.
