We are looking for energetic, confident, and outgoing Cruise Staff to join Royal Caribbean Group onboard our cruise ships.

The Cruise Staff team is responsible for hosting and participating in shipboard recreational, entertainment, and social activities for adults and families. This role involves engaging with guests throughout their cruise vacation, acting as Master of Ceremonies, leading activities, supporting onboard events, and helping create a fun, welcoming, and memorable guest experience.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Host, promote, and participate in adult and family recreational, entertainment, and social programs.
  • Serve as Master of Ceremonies for activities, events, theme nights, special functions, and group programs.
  • Interact continuously with guests in public areas and create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere onboard.
  • Use microphone techniques to inform, motivate, and entertain small and large groups of guests.
  • Participate in embarkation and debarkation procedures by providing information and directing or escorting guests when needed.
  • Greet and direct guests on and off the gangways during port calls.
  • Attend and support events such as Captain’s Cocktail Party, Welcome Back Party, Crown & Anchor Club events, Welcome Aboard Show, Farewell Show, Cruise Staff Cocktail Shows, island activities, and other guest functions.
  • Participate in shows, skits, simple dance routines, parades, and other events organized by the Cruise Director’s Division.
  • Host family activities and help create an enjoyable atmosphere for guests of all ages.
  • Organize, instruct, or facilitate onboard activities, tournaments, ShipShape programs, Sports Court activities, and other recreational events.
  • Assist with special group functions, including charters, affinity groups, promotional events, incentive groups, presentations, and theme nights.
  • Operate spotlight equipment during production shows when required and attend rehearsals as needed.
  • Assist with audio or visual equipment coordination for events when required.
  • Assemble, disassemble, store, and maintain activity props and equipment before and after events.
  • Maintain inventory of prize lockers, office supplies, consumable items, backstage materials, and activity-related supplies.
  • Assist Explorations with front desk support, ticket processing, and tour dispatching when required.
  • Attend meetings, training activities, courses, rehearsals, and other work-related activities as requested.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisors or management.


Qualifications: 

  • Minimum two years of Master of Ceremonies or professional entertainment experience, such as theatre, music, dance, comedy, cruise lines, resorts, entertainment venues, or recreational industries.
  • Previous experience using a microphone and addressing large groups of people.
  • Ability to capture and manage the attention of guests in a professional, engaging, and courteous manner.
  • Ability to provide basic instruction to large groups of people.
  • Strong guest service skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with guests.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, authority, and discretion when assisting guests.
  • Good computer skills, including internet access and basic software packages.
  • High school diploma or basic education equivalent required.
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Additional languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, or German are considered an advantage.
  • Candidates must be comfortable hosting activities, socializing with guests, and speaking in front of audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree from a college or university in theatre, performance, dance, or a related field.
  • Ability to offer a special talent or personal specialty class for the activity program.
  • Experience in dance instruction, craft classes, fitness classes, singing, or similar guest activity programs.
  • Cruise ship, resort, entertainment, or hospitality background.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically fit and able to participate in active entertainment and recreational duties.
  • Must be able and willing to be trained for stilt walking and parade participation, where required.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, communicate clearly, and perform physical activity for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and safety drills onboard.
  • Must have full visual, verbal, hearing, arm, and leg mobility required for emergency duties.
