Join Royal Caribbean Group as a Laundry Manager and play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional onboard hospitality.

On behalf of Royal Caribbean Group, we are seeking an experienced Laundry Manager to oversee all onboard laundry operations, ensuring efficient processing of guest, crew, linen, and uniform laundry while maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and guest satisfaction.


The Laundry Manager is responsible for leading the laundry team, managing daily operations, coordinating preventative maintenance of laundry equipment, controlling departmental costs, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and delivering exceptional service in accordance with company standards.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the onboard laundry facility.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and evaluate all Laundry Department team members.
  • Ensure all guest, crew, linen, and uniform laundry is processed according to company quality standards.
  • Monitor laundry production to ensure timely delivery and exceptional service.
  • Oversee washing, dry cleaning, ironing, pressing, folding, and storage procedures.
  • Ensure correct sorting, handling, and processing of all linen and uniforms.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs of laundry equipment with the Housekeeping and Engineering Departments.
  • Monitor laundry machinery to ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Maintain inventory levels of chemicals, detergents, and laundry supplies.
  • Ensure proper chemical handling, storage, and disposal in accordance with company policies.
  • Prepare daily, voyage, and monthly operational reports, including production, guest laundry, damaged linen, and inventory reports.
  • Coordinate linen inventory counts and ensure accurate linen distribution.
  • Monitor departmental costs and promote efficient use of equipment, supplies, utilities, and resources.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and operational standards throughout the laundry facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all public health, environmental, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Promote safe working practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques.
  • Develop work schedules, training plans, and cleaning schedules for the laundry team.
  • Lead daily team meetings and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
  • Support revenue initiatives related to guest laundry services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience in laundry operations within the cruise, hospitality, hotel, or luxury service industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional laundry operations experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial laundry equipment, laundry chemicals, fabric care, stain removal, and garment processing.
  • Experience managing preventive maintenance schedules for laundry equipment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop multicultural teams.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience onboard cruise ships.
  • Previous management experience within a luxury hotel or resort.
  • Knowledge of laundry management systems and reporting software.
  • Additional language skills such as Spanish, French, or German.
  • Experience with inventory control, cost management, and revenue-generating laundry services.


Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work onboard for the full duration of the assigned contract.
  • Physically fit to perform shipboard duties, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to participate in emergency drills and safety procedures.
  • Flexible to work varied schedules in accordance with Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) regulations.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, strong attention to detail, excellent guest service, and commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
