OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Chief Officer to sail on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. You will support the Master in safe and efficient vessel operations, ensuring cargo and deck are handled to the highest standard.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Master in overall ship management and navigation
- Plan and supervise cargo operations, loading and discharging
- Lead deck crew and ensure safe working practices at all times
- Oversee deck maintenance, stability, ballast and seaworthiness
- Maintain deck and safety documentation, drills and inspections
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Officer license for seagoing vessels
- Proven experience as C/O on bulk carriers
- All mandatory STCW certificates and valid seafarer documents
- Good English communication skills
- Strong leadership, cargo handling and navigational skills
