Join OSM Thome as Fitter on board modern LPG/Ethylene tankers trading worldwide. You will work closely with the engine and deck team to keep all steel work, pipelines and machinery in safe and reliable condition.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out welding, cutting and steel repairs on deck and in engine room
- Maintain and repair pipelines, valves, supports and brackets
- Assist in routine maintenance of machinery and auxiliary equipment
- Fabricate and fit parts as instructed by Chief Engineer
- Follow safety procedures, hot work permits and toolbox talks
- Keep work areas, tools and equipment clean and in good order
- Requirements:
- Previous sea service as Fitter, preferably on tankers/LPG
- Strong welding and gas-cutting skills (arc/MIG/TIG an advantage)
- Familiar with steel work, pipe fitting and basic machine shop tools
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness in line with rank
- Good English communication and ability to work in a mixed crew
- Safety-minded, reliable and ready for worldwide trading
- Candidate prefers with valid US Visa
