Join OSM Thome as a Fitter on board a bulk carrier trading worldwide. You will carry out steel repairs and maintenance, supporting safe and efficient vessel operations together with an experienced crew.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out steel repairs, cutting, welding and fabrication work on deck and in engine room
- Maintain and repair ship structures, ladders, handrails, manholes and other fittings
- Assist engineers and deck crew with maintenance and repair jobs as required
- Follow safety procedures and keep work areas clean and in good order
- Use tools and equipment safely and report any defects or damage
- Requirements:
- Previous sea service as Fitter on ocean-going vessels, preferably bulk carriers
- Good skills in welding, gas cutting and fabrication
- Good English communication skills
- Team player with a strong safety mindset and willingness to work hard
- Candidate prefers with valid US Visa
- Fitter should have valid STCW and Updating BT PSSR training
