OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Electro Technical Officer (ETO) to serve on board a bulk carrier, trading worldwide. You will be responsible for all electrical, electronic and automation systems on board, ensuring safe and efficient operations at sea.
- Key responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain and repair all electrical and electronic equipment, including power distribution, lighting and automation systems
- Monitor and troubleshoot engine room control systems, cargo handling equipment and navigation/communication systems
- Carry out planned maintenance, testing and inspections of electrical installations and safety systems
- Support the engine and deck teams during cargo operations, maneuvers and port stays
- Maintain accurate records, logs and reports for all electrical and electronic work
- Requirements:
- Valid ETO CoC and all required STCW certificates for service on bulk carriers
- Sea-going experience as ETO, preferably on bulk carriers
- Strong knowledge of shipboard electrical, electronic and automation systems
- Good English communication skills and ability to work in a mixed-nationality crew
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate and readiness to sail worldwide
