Join OSM Thome as Messman on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. Support the galley and messroom operations, keeping high standards of cleanliness and hygiene while serving the crew and officers at sea.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Cook/Chief Cook with food preparation and basic galley duties
- Set up, serve and clear meals in the messrooms
- Wash dishes, utensils and galley equipment
- Keep galley, messrooms, pantries and stores clean and tidy
- Assist with receiving, checking and storing provisions
- Follow onboard safety, hygiene and sanitation standards
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Messman on seagoing vessels, preferably bulk carriers
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good command of English for shipboard communication
- Basic knowledge of food handling and hygiene
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to work hard
- Ready to work on a worldwide trading pattern
