OSM Thome is looking for a Chief Engineer to join a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) operating offshore Angola. This is a hands-on role for an experienced C/E who can lead the engine department, keep all machinery running safely and efficiently, and support safe offshore operations.
- Key responsibilities:
- Oversee operation and maintenance of all main and auxiliary engines, propulsion, and machinery systems
- Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on all engine room equipment
- Lead, train, and supervise engine room crew, ensuring safe working practices
- Monitor fuel, lube oil, and spare parts, keeping accurate records and reports
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, class, flag, and international regulations
- Support safe cargo, DP, and offshore operations from the engineering side
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Engineer license (unlimited)
- Previous experience as C/E on PSV or similar offshore vessels
- Good knowledge of diesel engines, auxiliaries, and vessel systems
- Valid STCW certificates and offshore medical
- Good English communication skills, written and spoken
- Strong leadership, problem-solving attitude, and safety mindset
