Join OSM Thome as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook on a passenger ferry in Europe. You will support the Chief Cook in preparing good, safe and tasty meals for crew and passengers, keeping the galley clean and well-organized, and helping smooth day-to-day galley operations.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and cooking daily meals for crew and passengers
- Follow menus, portion control and food safety standards
- Carry out basic baking, salad and dessert preparation as required
- Support in receiving, checking and proper storage of provisions
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in galley, stores and equipment
- Sort and dispose of galley garbage according to vessel procedures
- Assist the Chief Cook with stock control and daily galley routines
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as 2nd Cook / Assistant Cook at sea, preferably on passenger or ferry vessels
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness for sea service
- Good knowledge of galley safety, food hygiene and HACCP
- Ability to work in a small team and follow instructions
- Basic English communication skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced passenger vessel environment
