Join OSM Thome as Chief Officer on our worldwide trading oil/chemical tankers. You will work with a professional crew, ensure safe cargo operations, and support the Master in all deck and navigational duties.
- Key responsibilities:
- Oversee deck department and daily deck operations
- Plan and supervise loading, discharging, and cargo care
- Monitor stability, draft, trim, and ballast operations
- Ensure safe navigation and watchkeeping as per company and international rules
- Maintain deck, cargo gear, safety equipment, and LSA/FFA readiness
- Lead safety drills, inspections, and implementation of SMS/ISPS procedures
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Officer / Management Level Deck CoC (STCW II/2)
- Recent experience as C/O on oil/chemical tankers
- Valid tanker endorsements (Oil/Chemical) and STCW safety courses
- Good English communication skills
- Strong safety mindset and leadership skills onboard
