Join OSM Thome as a 2nd Engineer on oil/chemical tankers trading worldwide. You will be part of a professional engine team, keeping all machinery in safe and efficient running condition on international voyages.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer in daily engine room operations and maintenance
- Monitor and maintain main engine, auxiliary engines and related machinery
- Oversee fuel oil, lube oil and bunker operations as instructed
- Carry out planned maintenance and record all work done
- Ensure safe engine room watchkeeping and compliance with company and international rules
- Support safe cargo and ballast operations from the engine side
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Engineer (unlimited) CoC, meeting STCW requirements
- Recent experience as 2/E on oil/chemical tankers
- Good knowledge of engine room systems and tanker operations
- All mandatory STCW safety and tanker certificates
- Good English communication skills
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate
